- ➤ Vendor applications are open for Kenosha HarborMarket's 2026 outdoor season, which begins Saturday, May 2 and runs every Saturday through Oct. 31 except July 4 along 2nd Avenue and Place de Douai — the market, now extended through Oct. 2030, features local food, artisan goods, live music and family activities. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Kenosha's Jaida Carbone, a third grader at Harvey Elementary, earned Kids Heart Challenge All Star status by raising nearly $1,100 last school year for the American Heart Association. Her work honors her nurse parents and grandfathers who had triple bypass surgeries and shows her commitment to helping others. Kenosha.com
- ➤ Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ By World is an 18-session workshop starting tomorrow, Jan. 11, that helps participants build resources and create a future plan. Sessions occur on Sundays and Tuesdays with meals + gift cards provided as support. Kenosha.com
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ UW-Parkside has announced it will add women's flag football as a varsity sport during the 2026-27 academic year, making it the first NCAA school to offer athletic scholarships in the sport. University leaders say the program is designed to provide new opportunities for women athletes. TMJ-4
