  • Glenda 'Sue' Dupons, a respected educator and real estate leader, died Jan. 12 at age 78. A visitation open house is scheduled Jan. 18, 1-4 p.m. at Haase-Lockwood Funeral Home in Twin Lakes + a Celebration of Life will be held Jan. 19 at noon.  Kenosha County Eye
  • State Rep. Amanda Nedweski honored 13-year-old bluegrass musician Aidan Muse with the Assembly’s Hometown Hero Award Tuesday in Madison for his music and work with 4-H + local nonprofits in Kenosha County.  Kenosha County Eye

  • Trolley Dogs (a longtime restaurant on Sixth Avenue) closed recently after serving the community for over 20 years and is unlikely to reopen in its old form.  Kenosha County Eye

CRIME NEWS

  • School officials and the sheriff's office found a .22-caliber bullet in a boys' bathroom stall at Westosha Central on Wednesday afternoon — no additional items or credible threats to students or staff were identified.  WLIP

  • SiFi Networks completed its citywide fiber installation in Kenosha on time and under budget, with minor cleanup remaining; officials say the high-speed network positions the city as a smart city — boosting future economic development.  WLIP

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wilmot staff shaved their heads on Jan. 8 at Wilmot Union High School auditorium during the Shave the Brave event (a fundraiser for childhood cancer) that brought cheers and laughter to the community.  Kenosha News
