- ➤ Andrew 'Andy' Boening, a longtime western Kenosha County resident known for his love of the outdoors and family, died on Jan. 18 at Grande Prairie Care and Rehabilitation Center with family by his side. A celebration of life is set for Saturday, Mar. 14 at Christ Lutheran Church in Paddock Lake (donations to the memorial fund are welcomed instead of flowers). Kenosha County Eye

CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Kenosha’s Snow Daze Festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, Feb. 7 after dangerous cold forced a postponement from Jan. 24. The festival will feature over 40 ice sculptures downtown and at Veterans Memorial Park with local businesses offering special promotions (such as free s’mores kits and skate checkouts). - ➤ KUSD will host its 59th annual Choral Festival on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 6:30 p.m. inside Indian Trail High School field house with over 800 student singers performing under guest conductor Dr. Christopher Owen & school directors. Tickets cost $10 online. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ A coalition of parents, teachers and school board members in the Kenosha-Racine area pushed for a bill on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 6:45 p.m. that would require schools to provide one hour of daily recess for kindergarten through sixth-grade students to boost academics and child well-being. WGTD
