EDUCATION NEWS

  • Dr. Vicki King, superintendent of Salem School District, has resigned and will leave effective June 30 after accepting a new position in another district — a letter to families confirmed her decision.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A Kenosha father said he lost trust in the school system when an administrator from Lance Middle School drove his 11-year-old daughter home in a personal vehicle on Jan. 28 — even though no emergency was present.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Kenosha is reviving its I Voted sticker contest for students in grades K4-12, inviting young locals to display creativity and celebrate civic pride. The contest returns after its successful debut last year and offers a chance for students to engage in a community initiative.  Kenosha News
  • Kenosha Unified School District’s Kinetic Winter Color Guard joined with Midwest Color Guard Circuit to host a regional winter color guard competition starting at 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8 at Tremper High School (8560 26th Ave.) with 27 teams from Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana showcasing their skills in pageantry arts.  Kenosha County Eye

  • The Kenosha Unified School District Board approved changes to retiree health and dental benefits Tuesday night, lowering eligibility and reducing contributions for some employees — adjustments aimed at easing disparities without triggering sudden retirements.
