  • A Kenosha resident and World War II veteran was honored for a life well lived. The ceremony recognized his service and impact on the local community.  Kenosha News
  • Residents in Wheatland opposed a proposed 200-megawatt battery energy storage project — citing safety and environmental concerns, including its proximity to schools, despite an $8.6 million financial offer. Both planning and zoning commissions voted down the plan and Robin Energy Storage said it will resubmit its application.  TMJ-4

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Willa Modder (a student from The Prairie School) will perform on the cello with the WorldStrides High School Honors Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, Feb. 8 after a rigorous audition selected elite young musicians from around the world.  Kenosha.com
  • More than 1,400 students and large crowds attended the 28th annual Band-O-Rama hosted by Kenosha Unified School District where school bands gave lively performances.  Kenosha News
