A Kenosha resident and World War II veteran was honored for a life well lived.

Residents in Wheatland opposed a proposed 200-megawatt battery energy storage project — citing safety and environmental concerns, including its proximity to schools, despite an $8.6 million financial offer.
Both planning and zoning commissions voted down the plan and Robin Energy Storage said it will resubmit its application.

Willa Modder (a student from The Prairie School) will perform on the cello with the WorldStrides High School Honors Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, Feb.
8 after a rigorous audition selected elite young musicians from around the world.
More than 1,400 students and large crowds attended the 28th annual Band-O-Rama hosted by Kenosha Unified School District where school bands gave lively performances.

A fundraiser to support the planned competitive youth sailing team will take place at 6 p.m. Feb.
7 at the Carthage College Jockey Club in the Todd Wehr Center on Alford Park Drive.
