  • Karen Ovitt, a Kenosha native, celebrated 50 years as a school crossing guard and was honored Friday with a commendation for her dedicated service that has kept children safe at several local schools — her steady work supports generations of students.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Community groups, businesses, bands, and performers have until Friday, Feb. 20 to submit entries for the Eric Olson Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which is scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 10:45 a.m. The parade will start at 50th Street and Seventh Avenue and end at Library Park.  WLIP
  • The City of Kenosha extended the deadline for entries to the 2026 Eri Olson Memorial St. Patrick’s Day parade, giving locals extra time to register before the event later this year.  Kenosha News

CULTURE NEWS

  • A water main break flooded the basement of the Rhode Center for the Arts in downtown Kenosha yesterday, damaging props plus ruining a sump pump. Volunteers are requested for the upcoming Wednesday work day as Lakeside Players plan to open Friday night's production.  WGTD
  • Mark Chestnut from Kenosha has attended eight Winter Olympics since 1992 and is now passing his Olympic passion to his daughter Madison at the Games in Milan, exchanging pins and memories of international friendship.  TMJ-4

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The new Jonathan Delagrave Youth Development and Care Center (48 beds, 70 staff) is now at capacity after opening last spring to replace an outdated facility. Director Hope Otto said it uses a fresh youth brain development approach to help teens, with Kenosha County as a key partner.  WGTD
