COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Hospice Alliance invites the community to honor loved ones with engraved bricks that support its mission during a free Memorial Brick Walk event at Kemper Center in Kenosha this June. Bricks purchased before April 24 will support the annual Service of Remembrance — orders placed after April 25 will count for next year’s event.  Kenosha.com
  • During renovations at the Roger Prange Municipal Building, workers discovered a hidden time capsule with photos, letters, and memorabilia from 1994. Jim Klotz saw an old photo of his late father and a longtime dispatcher recognized herself as a mascot—details that have sparked community interest in Pleasant Prairie's past.  TMJ-4

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire broke out Monday morning at an industrial building in Pleasant Prairie and fire crews from Wisconsin & Illinois responded quickly, getting the blaze under control by 8:11 a.m. and returning the building to management at 10:00 a.m. with no injuries reported and the cause still unknown.  WLIP
  • Dozens of Southwire employees were displaced early this morning just after 7:30 a.m. when smoke was reported on the second floor of the building on 95th St in Pleasant Prairie—fire crews from Kenosha and Lake County IL quickly responded and brought the fire under control while Snap On kept workers warm during safety checks. CRIME NEWS

  • Early Monday morning, Kenosha police arrested Jessica D. Lentz, 46, after she allegedly attacked her roommate with a sledgehammer near 54th Street and 14th Avenue, leaving the victim hospitalized—she now faces attempted homicide charges.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A 41-year-old Kenosha man pleaded not guilty Thursday in Kenosha County Circuit Court to charges of first-degree intentional homicide with use of a dangerous weapon, mistreatment of animals causing death with a dangerous weapon, burglary and criminal damage to property—charges stemming from the Feb. 3 stabbing that killed 52-year-old Andrew Pfannkuche and his dog at his newly purchased home in the 8500 block of 18th Avenue—and he remains in custody on a $1.5 million bond with a final pretrial hearing set for June 18.  WLIP
