  • On Wed, Mar. 11 at Mercantile Hall in Burlington, 67 women at the 100 Women Who Care event donated funds to award nearly $7,000 to Disaster Response Team, a trained volunteer group formed after a 2017 flood, sponsored by Community State Bank+local partners.  Kenosha.com

  • Racine Mayor Cory Mason will propose renaming the Chavez Community Center after Delores Huerta next month — a change in reexamining local landmarks. On Sunday at 5, a tribute at the Civil War Museum will honor Katherine Marks for her lasting community leadership.  WGTD

HEALTH NEWS

  • Governor Tony Evers signed Gail’s Law Thursday to require insurers to cover supplemental breast cancer screenings for high-risk women, reducing costly out-of-pocket fees. Rep. Amanda Nedweski from Pleasant Prairie said the law is a major win & expands local access to timely care.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Governor Tony Evers signed a bill that extends postpartum Medicaid benefits to one year for new mothers — the expanded coverage will begin on July 1 pending federal approval and aims to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.  WLIP

  • Indian Trail High School cheerleading team won the state championship in Kenosha, showing strong teamwork and skill during the contest. The win marks the school’s latest competitive achievement.  Kenosha News
