COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A Kenosha resident has battled for over a year to fix a cracked sidewalk caused by fiber cable installation in November 2024. City officials say SiFi Networks is responsible for permanent repairs + temporary patches quickly wear out, leaving safety concerns unresolved.  TMJ-4
  • Community members and students joined legacy events this week honoring late civic leader Katherine Marks — celebrations recognized her long-standing impact on Kenosha.  Kenosha News
  • Submit applications for the Kenosha Civic Veterans Parade (celebrating 250 years) by 4 p.m. on Friday, May 29 to join the event scheduled for Sunday, June 28 at 1 p.m. at Washington Road and Seventh Avenue, continuing on Sixth Avenue to Library Park with Snap-on, Inc. sponsoring.  Kenosha.com
  • Kenosha Police Chief Patrick Patton joined Meals on Wheels volunteers on Wednesday, March 27 to deliver meals to seniors and residents with disabilities as part of the annual March for Meals organized by Kenosha Area Family and Aging Services Inc.   • Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman announced nominations for the 2026 Veteran of the Year Award are open until 5 p.m. on April 30 — local veterans will be honored at the Veterans Appreciation Picnic on May 29 at Veterans Memorial Park.  Kenosha.com

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A Kenosha mother who worked in security at Bradford High was fired by KUSD after quickly reporting dangerous incidents involving armed students and is now fighting to regain her job. The district has placed her termination under appeal, and supporters say her actions kept students safe.  Kenosha County Eye

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Kenosha County announced plans for a comprehensive housing study and needs assessment led by the county and KABA. The Housing Task Force will examine local housing trends and offer recommendations to improve housing opportunities.  Kenosha News
  • Nominations for the 2026 Kenosha County Veteran of the Year Award are now open, inviting residents to honor local veterans for their service and leadership. The county will review submissions and announce the honoree later this year + updates will be provided as the process unfolds.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Street lights remain off along 39th Ave between Washington Road and 24th Street after a vehicle damaged the control cabinet. Public Works says crews will restore service as soon as a replacement cabinet arrives, likely by late next week—drivers and pedestrians should use caution.  WLIP
