- ➤ Habitat for Humanity of Kenosha will hold its fourth Community Build Week to help local families achieve home ownership — the event will engage local volunteers to build homes and strengthen the community. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ At least 790 students at over 120 colleges had their visas taken away in recent weeks, including one Carthage College senior from Spain who left quickly. Carthage held a quick graduation—where some teachers wore dress clothes and students gathered—and said it will keep helping its international students. WGTD
- ➤ The school district permanently closed and removed the playground behind Frank Elementary School after over 30 years of use because of growing safety concerns. Local families and teachers raised about $21,000 to help fund a replacement — though there is no set timeline for building a new playground. TMJ-4
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Three Kenosha Police Department officers — Kyle Toppel, Charles Lyons, and Matthew Lovell — were honored on April 15 for their quick efforts to revive a 59-year-old man who was found unresponsive on the 2600 block of 63rd Street on Feb 15.
