  • Kenosha resident Landon McKinnis appeared on Shark Tank on April 18 to pitch his electric Go Nutz shaver, seeking $100,000 for 15% of his company Private Grooming. He accepted a deal with Mark Cuban and Daymond John for $120,000 for 30% and has since sold out his inventory while working to boost production — more orders continue coming in.  Kenosha News

  • An 11-year-old boy was taken into custody on April 15 after allegedly threatening to bring a gun to Bose Elementary School to shoot a classmate—police said that a search of Columbus Park recovered only a loaded magazine and his mother called the incident heartbreaking.  TMJ-4

  • Kenosha County launched an adopt-a-highway program on Apr. 24 at Brighton School’s Earth Day event, letting residents sign up to clean two-mile stretches of county roads and providing safety vests, signs and trash bags—an idea championed by County Board Supervisor Frederick Brookhouse— while the program applies only to county-controlled roads.  WGTD
  • The Wisconsin DNR began investigating unapproved excavation and tree cutting behind Village Hall in Salem Lakes after complaints emerged, and village administrator Cassandra Hiller is under scrutiny for ordering the work without board approval. Hiller has retained a Milwaukee lawyer—known for civil rights cases—as the Village Board held an emergency closed meeting while several officials called for her resignation.  Kenosha County Eye
