- ➤ City officials and local partners will unveil 'Keys to Kenosha', a new architectural tour and cultural celebration, at a press conference on Friday, May 1, 9 a.m. at the Simmons Branch of the Kenosha Public Library (711 59th Place) to offer behind-the-scenes access to historic landmarks and hidden local spots. - ➤ Mt. Pleasant has hired internationally known artist Thomas Dambo to create a giant troll sculpture from recycled materials for a new public park planned next year (donors and volunteers can email to help); funding comes from the village’s hotel/motel tax after a similar project in Wauwatosa drew 62,000 visitors. - ➤ The Kenosha School Board is set to consider renewing its request for a property tax levy (beyond state limits) at its meeting tonight due to a $8.7 million deficit. Administration recommended scheduling a referendum in November after a comparable measure failed last year. WGTD
