- ➤ United Way of Kenosha County named former executive David Maurer interim CEO (effective May 18) following CEO Carolynn Friesch's resignation, and the board began a formal search for a permanent leader. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ Pleasant Prairie Police will host an annual Bicycle Rodeo on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at Village Hall (9915 39th Avenue). - ➤ KUSD (Kenosha Unified School District) has been recognized for its music education programs by receiving the BCME Award from the NAMM Foundation for the 12th consecutive year. The accolade underscores strong local support for quality school music experiences. Kenosha.com
- ➤ Kenosha Unified’s government and politics classes focus on teaching how government works and encouraging respectful debate. Coordinator Che Kearby explained on WGTD’s Civic Affairs on Apr. 29 that the classes also prepare students to pass the state civics exam. WGTD

- ➤ The Kenosha Fire Department will hold a live burn training exercise Friday, May 8 at a home on the 2200 block of 57th Street, starting at 7 a.m. with live fire drills at 9 a.m. and a final burn at 2 p.m. Road closures in the area may affect traffic. WLIP

- ➤ Local bowling icon Bob Larson, a key figure for nearly 70 years in Kenosha's bowling scene, will be inducted into the United States Bowling Congress Hall of Fame soon as a tribute to his lifelong passion and success in the sport. TMJ-4
