EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Kenosha Unified School District was honored on April 30 for winning its 12th Best Communities for Music Education Award. The recognition reflects the district’s continued investment in quality music programs that boost creativity and academic success. WLIP
- ➤ The Kenosha Unified School District installed metal detectors (costing over $473,000) in April after incidents spurred safety concerns among parents; some locals say funds might be better spent on academic resources. Milwaukee Public Schools added metal detectors at all middle and high schools to boost student safety. TMJ-4
- ➤ At the April 28 meeting, Kenosha Unified officials said they will ask voters for a new referendum in November — a move driven by budget strain and falling enrollment after a $115 million plan was rejected. The district is looking for fresh solutions to its funding challenges. Kenosha County Eye
