COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Kenosha Public Market announced it is relocating to the Kemper Center campus for its outdoor summer season opening today. The market will host local vendors and fresh produce for community shoppers.  Kenosha News
  • Applications for the 2026 Kenosha Civic Veterans Parade are due by May 29; entries include floats, groups, and a community bike ride scheduled for June 28 in Kenosha.  Kenosha News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Simple Food Group has presented plans for a multi-use campus featuring a bakery production facility, cafe and coffee shop, event space, catering kitchen, food lab, and a 30-unit apartment building. The project is expected to boost local business by offering new dining and living options for the community.  Kenosha News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Keys to Kenosha, a self-guided architectural and cultural tour, will launch on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents can explore over 50 locations including historic landmarks and creative spaces at no cost (no registration required).  Kenosha County Eye
  • Kenosha will host Keys to Kenosha on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering free self-guided tours of over 50 sites including the Courthouse, libraries, and the soon-to-open County Human Services Building with primary sponsors Partners, Snap-on, Jockey International and Uline.  WGTD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bradford High School students present The Hello Girls (a play about World War I female switchboard operators who served on front lines yet were denied veteran status). A performance occurred on May 1 and another will be held on May 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the school.  TMJ-4
  • Kenosha Unified School District installed walk-through metal detectors and handheld detection wands at its six high schools before spring break. District officials reported that the rollout went smoothly.  Kenosha News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Governor Tony Evers signed Executive Order #290 directing U.S. and Wisconsin flags to be lowered on May 3 for the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. The order also schedules flag lowering on Sept. 26 at the EMS Memorial Final Alarm Ceremony and Oct. 10 during Fire Prevention Week to honor fallen firefighters.  WLIP
  • City of Kenosha is hosting free 2050 Comprehensive Plan workshops from May through July 2026 at libraries, city buildings + local venues to gather input. Participants can share ideas + help shape the city’s future.  Kenosha News

HEALTH NEWS

  • State officials announced that $410K was invested to train over 600 healthcare workers statewide on April 28. The Wisconsin Fast Forward program supported training in high-demand roles & aimed to boost wages and career paths.  WLIP
  • Residents in flood-affected areas can still access free well testing for private wells through May 8 from Kenosha County Public Health. Test kits are available for pickup at the County Center in Bristol and town halls in Paddock Lake, Pleasant Prairie, Randall, Salem Lakes, Somers, Twin Lakes and Wheatland.  WLIP
