  • Today, the public in Kenosha will pay tribute to WWII veteran Emerald 'Dixie' Knudson, a local resident who died earlier this year. A memorial gathering at Piasecki Funeral Home will run from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m.—a graveside service with full military honors will begin at 12:15 p.m. at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.  WGTD

CRIME NEWS

  • Police say a Pleasant Prairie woman, 34, hit and killed a pedestrian on April 27 around 10:23 p.m. on Old Green Bay Road and then tried to hide her car in Illinois — she is held on $150,000 bail while a 26-year-old woman was arrested for helping her.  TMJ-4
  • Two Pleasant Prairie women were charged May 2 in connection to a fatal traffic death in the village.  Kenosha News
  • Two Pleasant Prairie women were arrested for a fatal hit and run that occurred last weekend near the 8900 block of Old Green Bay Road at 10:23 p.m.—Bishop, 34, faces hit and run causing death charges while Dodson, 26, is charged with harboring a felon as the victim died despite emergency help.  WLIP
  • Nicholas E. Smith, 45, is a Kenosha man who was charged with ten new felony offenses after evidence from an April 27 domestic violence incident showed he hurt his partner and caused her fear - his bail was set at $15,000 while the district attorney asked for $250,000 and he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 8.  Kenosha County Eye
