- ➤ Esther Roberts was named Executive Director of the Shalom Center on May 2 after serving as Interim Executive Director for three months. She had worked as Housing Case Manager for two years and brings over 14 years of housing experience — a background that will guide her leadership at the nonprofit. Kenosha.com
- ➤ Shalom Center in Kenosha received a Safe Shelter and Homelessness Grant from the State of Wisconsin to boost its food and shelter programs + it is the only homeless shelter and largest food pantry in the county. - ➤ A voicemail left Monday morning at Brass Community School mentioned a prank call about a school shooting and raised concern among parents and staff; district officials and police have investigated the call and found no direct threat. TMJ-4
- ➤ A 38-year-old Kenosha man is facing a felony charge in Milwaukee for allegedly trying to pay for sex with someone he believed was 15 after responding to an undercover online ad, and a judge set his cash bail at $5,000—his preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15. Kenosha County Eye

- ➤ The Kenosha Common Council referred Elsie Mae’s Pies and Pints’ request for a Class B beer and liquor license with a permanent outdoor extension back to a committee after a fire damaged the property at 6611 120th Avenue. Owner Kelly Deem said her business faces a tough setback but is moving forward with recovery plans—council members unanimously supported her and the License and Permit Committee will review the application soon.
