  • Reanna Newell completed Kenosha’s Treatment Court after 57 consecutive weeks of negative tests (under Judge David Wilk’s supervision) and will return as a mentor for the alumni group to help others rebuild their lives.   • Uline is delaying construction on its 1.2M-square-foot distribution facility until 2027 or later as economic conditions remain unsettled.  Kenosha News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Visit Kenosha is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and continues boosting local tourism by staffing the welcome center and partnering with events such as a parade & marathon; 2024 estimates show tourism brings $456 million to the area.  WGTD

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A record 33 high school students from Kenosha and Racine were awarded over $500K in scholarships at Friday’s 2026 Reaching for Rainbows Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship Gala held at the N.E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center. The event honored recipients with career and legacy awards and showcased partnerships between KUDS+RUSD to boost affordable education.  Kenosha.com
  • Yesterday, two Kenosha area leaders joined a 25-person committee to review candidates for the next UW president after Jay Rothman was fired — the Board of Regents will choose the final candidate.  WLIP
  • Kenosha Unified School District will form a committee to review recommendations for renaming the Chavez Learning Station (ages 3-5), an early learning center for young children. The review will guide the decision for the facility’s new name.  Kenosha News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • In April, Lakes Michigan and Huron recorded a 13.4-inch rise due to heavy rains and snowmelt—about three times the normal increase. This is the largest surge since records began in 1918 and came after Wisconsin experienced its wettest April on record.  WGTD

  • The City of Kenosha will host a free shredding event Saturday, June 27 at Northside Library (1500 27th Ave.), Southwest Library (7979 38th Ave.) and Kenosha Water Utility (4401 Green Bay Road), where hard drive destruction is available; residents may bring five boxes.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Kenosha County is offering free gun trigger and cable locks from harm-reduction vending machines today to promote safe firearm storage amid recent gun deaths.  Kenosha News
