ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Seminole Tribe’s Hard Rock expansion in Rockford has sparked doubts about the Kenosha casino’s long-term benefits, local anti-gambling group *Citizens Against Expanded Gambling* said Wednesday, citing overlapping market targets and outdated environmental reviews. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Kenosha Unified's musical theater program received another honor on May 13 with a state award (Jerry Award) for Outstanding Musical, and three cast members were recognized for Outstanding Lead Performance. Teacher Kirsten Singer has led a streak of award-winning productions for five consecutive years.  WGTD
  • Racine Educators United is hosting a public education advocacy event today at Memorial Hall in Racine featuring 50 portraits that share the stories of 40 students and 10 teachers, with food and a hands-on art space for kids and a panel discussion starting at 6:30.  WGTD

  • Kenosha officials remind motorists to avoid parking on sidewalks, near crosswalks, driveways, or other hazardous areas as improper parking may lead to $25 citations + towing. Residents are encouraged to use designated parking spots.  Kenosha News
