COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Three dogs rescued last month after being thrown from a moving vehicle have recovered fully and are now available for adoption through Billy's Posse in Kenosha. The rescue volunteer said the pups are healthy and eager to find forever homes (the team treated serious wounds to ensure their recovery).  TMJ-4
  • Local officials + public safety workers joined a countywide lifejacket campaign this week to promote water safety during Water Safety Month across Kenosha County. Leaders urged residents to follow boating safety tips + stay alert near water.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Upcoming Memorial Day ceremonies will feature parades and commemorative events across Kenosha County (in Kenosha, Somers, Silver Lake, Twin Lakes, Union Grove, and Pleasant Prairie) as communities prepare to honor veterans.  Kenosha News
  • Robin Energy Storage will host a community forum Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kenosha County Center (19600 75th St., Bristol) to address local concerns over its proposed battery facility.  Kenosha County Eye

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State superintendents from Kenosha, Racine, Madison, Milwaukee and Green Bay urged Gov. Evers and legislators to resume talks after a school aid/tax relief package was rejected on May 15; they said the proposal offered progress in raising special education reimbursement while providing limited financial relief.  WGTD
  • The state building commission approved about $248 million in funding, with Kenosha County receiving $250k to restore the Pike River South Branch for improved local infrastructure & environmental conditions.  WLIP
