- ➤ The City of Kenosha will open its outdoor public pools on June 16, weather permitting. Washington Park Pool at 1821 Washington Road + Anderson Park Pool at 8730 22nd Ave will offer waterslides, interactive features and kids' areas for summer fun. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ At the Veterans Appreciation Summer Picnic held Friday at the Kenosha County Veterans Memorial Park, Bill Hopkins, a U.S. Navy veteran and longstanding community volunteer, was named the 2026 Kenosha County Veteran of the Year. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ Hundreds of kites will fill the sky at Kennedy Park this weekend—Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7—from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., as the event features the Zeigler Hyundai Grand Launch, international kite performances and special kids' activities with free admission. Kenosha County Eye
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ KUSD will use CEIA OPENGATE metal detectors (for screening and device safety) at all local high school graduations this year, ensuring each ceremony is secure. The new measure will screen all attendees and offer medical device assistance. Kenosha News

- ➤ Members of Kenosha Prince Hall Masons Joppa Lodge No. 9 donated $1,000 to Kenosha Joint Services to boost 911 dispatchers' mental well-being by enhancing a quiet room (a space to relax after tough calls) following a formal ceremony on May 29. Kenosha County Eye
