- ➤ Christopher L. Newberry, 47, of Kenosha was charged with a felony after police said he drove erratically through residential streets on Sunday and registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.267—more than triple the legal limit in Wisconsin. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ Shamar J. Raines, 41, of Kenosha appeared in court yesterday where he was held on $51,000 bail—he now faces extradition to Minnesota on felony warrants for violent robbery, assault, and a drug offense. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ A 31-year-old Twin Lakes woman, Brittany E. Hyde, faced five charges for speeding, impaired driving and narcotics possession while on bond, with bail set at $10,000 cash and a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 10—she claimed she was driving to a hospital because she had seizures when officers observed her vehicle straddling lanes in a 25 mph zone. - ➤ Jake C. Wenzel, 29, of Antioch, Ill was accused of making terrorist threats after allegedly telling his ex-girlfriend he planned to spray down the Salem Lakes bar where she worked—law enforcement said the message was taken as a threat of gun violence. Kenosha County Eye

- ➤ The DNR said the Village of Salem Lakes broke rules by clearing trees and removing plants in a C-1 wetland without a permit. The village must submit a non-federal wetland exemption or a wetland restoration plan by June 15, and longtime visitor West Jacobs — who has visited the wetland since the 1960s — said he feels sad about the damage.
