COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Leadership Kenosha is accepting applications for its civic leadership development program for 2025 to 2026 hosted by the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce—participants will build skills while connecting with local nonprofits. Local nonprofits must submit project proposals by August 1 while interested individuals need to apply by June 15 for scholarship consideration.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Kenosha Police Department has expanded its anti-fraud outreach—delivering nearly 50 presentations to seniors and local groups on scam prevention under the guidance of Detective Chad Buchanan and Crime Prevention Officer John Wenberg. They will host open sessions at Moose Club on Tuesday, June 25 at 3 p.m. and at Ruffalo’s II on Sunday, June 23 at 6 p.m.  Kenosha County Eye

  • Judge Angelina Gabriele recused herself from the cold case murder trial involving Vanderzee because of her past work in the District Attorney’s office—Judge Dougvillo will take over the case.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A woman's 911 call about two men brandishing pistols on her porch led police to charge three men on probation after a search of a Kenosha home on June 10th recovered a stolen firearm — drugs and ammunition were also found.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A 27-year-old Kenosha woman was charged on five counts—including two felonies—after allegedly fleeing an intoxicated hit-and-run crash and threatening officers and their families.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Shauna R. Plummer, 52, a homeless woman from Kenosha, was accused of using a weapon to slash another woman's face during an alley fight and appeared in court Tuesday on three criminal charges with bail set at $5,000.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A pre-dawn raid took place Tuesday morning in Twin Lakes by the Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, KDOG, and Twin Lakes Police—authorities confirmed no injuries occurred and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A Kenosha father and mother were charged with a felony after they reportedly helped their daughter hold down another teen during a planned fight at Petrifying Springs Park (incident on June 10).  Kenosha County Eye
