  • On June 13, defense attorneys filed a motion to dismiss charges in the 22-year-old murder of David Vanderzee in Powers Lake — arguing the complaint offered only innuendo and no new facts — and canceled the joint preliminary hearing for John Viskocil, who remains jailed, and Roxanna Collins, who remains free on a $500,000 bond.  WGTD
  • Ricky J. Neubecker Jr., 34, already in custody for a 2023 burglary, was charged Friday with violently beating a fellow inmate inside Kenosha County Jail—authorities said the assault occurred while he awaited trial.  Kenosha County Eye

  • The City of Kenosha & Happenings Magazine will host the 23rd season of the Peanut Butter & Jam concert series starting July 10 in downtown Veterans Memorial Park, with free performances each Thursday at 6 p.m. and additional acts at 11:30 a.m., while Sixth Avenue closes from 52nd to 54th Street for pedestrian safety during the evening shows.  Kenosha County Eye
