ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Thursday night a home on the 3800 Block of 14th Ave was severely damaged by a fire after residents delayed calling 911—fire officials said the blaze began when an upstairs tenant dropped a lit cigarette onto a mattress on the upper deck near the Piss Tunnel.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Emergency crews rescued an unresponsive man from the rooftop of a commercial building in the 8300 block of Lexington Place in Pleasant Prairie on June 12 using a Stokes basket— a special rescue stretcher— and a ladder system, then took him to Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital for care while his condition remains unknown.  Kenosha County Eye

  • Family and friends gathered Saturday near the intersection of 48th Street to hold a balloon release marking one year since Kenny Davidson's homicide—honoring his memory.  Kenosha News

  • Alyssa Jurasik, an alleged one-time drug dealer, kept her teaching job after accepting a year of probation from misdemeanor convictions tied to 2023 drug charges and a two-week suspension following parent complaints—court records now show her case is closed.  WGTD
  • Alyssa Jurasik, a teacher at Kenosha Unified, faced drug dealing charges in 2023 that were reduced to misdemeanors after she admitted her mistakes; she was suspended for two weeks when some parents complained but has now completed her probation and returned to teaching.  WGTD

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A silent vigil is set to begin today at the Racine County Courthouse as members of the Racine Interfaith Coalition, the Kenosha Quakers and other groups call on Congressman Bryan Steil to reflect on policies affecting immigrant families, social services and democratic values. The event will last as long as at least two people remain—organizers said after over 1,000 protesters joined a 'No Kings' demonstration in Kenosha and Racine this past weekend.  WGTD
  • The Kenosha City Plan Commission provided feedback on a planned fuel station with a drive-thru at the northwest corner of Green Bay Road and 60th Street—developers will review the comments for next steps.  Kenosha News
