  • Hold My Beer owners Luke and Meghan Faulkner are developing a new venue (Southport Smoothies) in Downtown Kenosha two years after they opened their first business.  Kenosha News

CRIME NEWS

  • Michael A. Daniels, 48, of Salem appeared in court Tuesday for allegedly violating a temporary restraining order by threatening a Kenosha man to ‘make his body disappear’—bail was set at $500 cash and he faces up to nine months in prison plus a $10,000 fine if convicted.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A Kenosha woman is suing the county after a sheriff’s squad allegedly ran a red light and crashed into her car during a funeral procession—causing serious injuries.  Kenosha County Eye
  • A Kenosha riot participant—34-year-old Kelly Ziminski, who was present when Kyle Rittenhouse shot three people in Kenosha—has been denied early release from prison by a judge.  Kenosha County Eye

CULTURE NEWS

  • Tomorrow, a new variety show called Pride Mind will debut at the Rhode Center for the Arts at 514 56th St, featuring sketches, musical acts, drag, dance and poetry. The double feature offers a 7 p.m. family-friendly show and a 10 p.m. adults-only show with tickets at $15 for one show or $25 for both + half of the proceeds benefiting the Trevor Project.  Kenosha News
  • A popular summer tradition will return to HarborPark from July 17 through July 19 when the Hofbräu pop up Biergarten offers free entry along the lakefront with authentic German beer, food trucks serving bratwurst, hot dogs and giant pretzels, and live music. Sponsors BrewFest Partners and the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce plan to create a family friendly atmosphere—one that gives locals a true taste of a traditional German Biergarten.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Kenosha marked its fifth annual Juneteenth event at Civic Park with music, a mini market featuring Black-owned businesses, and community members gathering to honor Black history. Alvin Owens—organizer of the Regimen Barber Collective—led the celebration to promote freedom and economic empowerment.  TMJ-4

HEALTH NEWS

  • At Auburndale Elementary, mental health coordinator Samantha Phillips said a trusted adult’s check-in eased a student’s anxiety and suicidal thoughts, and studies show that supportive adults make many Wisconsin students feel safer. Phillips warned that her role might be cut due to low funding—experts stress that more school mental health staff are needed to support students.  Kenosha News
