🌲 Environment
Kenosha County received $700,000 in federal funds to improve water quality and restore habitat along the Pike River, as Congressman Bryan Steil announced on Friday.
The grant will repair over 3,200 feet of eroded streambank and more than 5 acres of parkland at Petrifying Springs Park—work expected to finish this fall.
Today the National Weather Service issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Kenosha County from noon until 7 p.m. Monday with heat index values reaching 105 degrees — residents should stay indoors, drink water, and use available cooling centers to stay safe.
