- ➤ A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after his bike hit the side of a turning pick-up on County Highway K three miles west of the interstate on June 26—excessive speed was cited and his bike became wedged under an SUV that then caught fire—while a Walworth County sheriff’s deputy sustained minor injuries after a distracted driver rear-ended her on I-43 in Darien. - ➤ Two Kenosha teens were charged as adults after an April police chase that exceeded 115 mph and ended in a crash near the Illinois state line following an alleged armed carjacking in Mount Pleasant—additional charges may be filed in Racine County. Kenosha County Eye

- ➤ The Kenosha Unified School Board approved higher user fees for the 2025-26 school year to help pay for school costs — the changes will affect what families pay for services. Kenosha News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kenosha will hold its Civic Veterans Parade on June 29 at noon with veterans groups, marching bands and entertainers along a route from Washington Road on Seventh Avenue to Library Park — street closures along the route will last until about 3:45 p.m. The city will also host the Celebrate America festival from July 4 to 5 near Southport Marina — a fireworks display is set for 9:30 p.m. on July 4 with further traffic restrictions imposed.
