  • Kenosha will host the Celebrate America festival on July 4 and 5 along the lakefront with music, food and fireworks planned for family fun. Queen Flash will perform at Wolfenbuttel Park at 7:30 p.m. on July 4 before the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.—other acts, carnival rides and free transit options add to the plans.  Kenosha County Eye

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Authorities said a 21-year-old motorcyclist died Wednesday evening when he struck a pickup truck turning left at the County Highway K and County Highway D intersection in Bristol—his collision with a following SUV led to a fire and minor injuries to others, and the investigation remains active.  WLIP

CRIME NEWS

  • A Kenosha man is accused of choking his live-in girlfriend twice—allegedly during a violent outburst—and threatening to kill her, which prompted a 911 call and police response early Wednesday morning.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Michael H. Rada (29) from Twin Lakes was charged on five counts (three of which are felony strangulation and suffocation) after an alleged domestic abuse incident early Thursday morning.  Kenosha County Eye

CULTURE NEWS

  • Racine native Willow Newell was crowned Miss Wisconsin 2025 on June 21 as the first Black woman to win the title — earning $13,000 in scholarships and additional awards — and she will compete at Miss America in September while promoting her Community Service Initiative, Expression Without Exclusion.  Kenosha News
  • Kenosha Pride will be held Friday, July 12—featuring live performances, family activities, community resources and local vendors. The event began in 2013 when Dan Seaver and local organizers started a small sidewalk march that grew into a nonprofit movement promoting community acceptance.  TMJ-4

  • The Harborside community is mourning Mr. David Underwood—a respected 7th-grade social studies teacher who died this past weekend while on family vacation. Principal Trent Barnhart said the school has set up counseling support for grieving students and families.  Kenosha County Eye
