- ➤ Sir Robert E. Ibsen was named the 2025 Hometown Hero for the second quarter by the Kenosha Hometown Heroes Commission at the July 7 Common Council meeting — he is 97, served 21 years in the U.S. Navy, and has long helped the community. Kenosha County Eye
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A new Cooper’s Hawk Restaurant and Winery is coming to Pleasant Prairie after the Plan Commission approved the development on Monday (located at the southwest corner of Highway 50 and 115th Avenue). Construction will start later this summer with completion targeted for mid-2026, and the 11,100-square-foot building is expected to employ about 150 workers. Kenosha County Eye

- ➤ Kiana N. Hamilton, 20, of Kenosha was charged with six new felony counts on July 9 after she allegedly fled from an officer while in handcuffs and injured him during a struggle while out on bond — police described her as an accused prostitute. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ A 47-year-old Kenosha man—Waymond Moronte Parker—was charged with felony victim intimidation and misdemeanor disorderly conduct after police said he grabbed a woman by the neck, took her handgun, and stopped her from calling police during a domestic dispute on July 5. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ Myron Faith Bowie, 38, of Kenosha was convicted on all seven counts on July 9—he attempted to burn the mother of his children alive while their four kids slept nearby. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ More than 20 years after the execution-style killing of David Vanderzee, John Viskocil posted a $500,000 cash bond Tuesday night and was released from jail while his co-defendant Roxanna Vanderzee-Collins, who posted the same bond in May, remains out of custody. Kenosha County Eye
