- ➤ The first Safe Haven Baby Box in Kenosha County was installed on July 14 at the Salem Lakes Fire and Rescue Station on 254th Court—providing a safe and anonymous way for parents to surrender newborns. Kenzie Gaede, an EMT, said the climate-controlled, 24/7 monitored box alerted first responders when an infant was placed inside. TMJ-4

- ➤ Christopher Saldana, a Kenosha man with a longtime goal of opening a music venue, was recommended for a beer and liquor license by the Licenses and Permits Committee on Monday. He plans to open the Sound Bar Music Cafe south of the public museum — where acoustic musicians will perform and a small cafe will serve food and drinks while sharing profits with a local music conservancy — and city council will vote on the recommendation later this month. - ➤ Kenosha police are investigating a death that occurred over the weekend in a home on 37th Ave near 54th St — the decedent, believed to be a woman in her 40s, was found, and investigators said more details may be shared soon while asking neighbors not to erase security camera video. WGTD
- ➤ A 26-year-old Kenosha man, Juan R. Reyes Moreno, allegedly drove through a stop sign while intoxicated on Saturday night and seriously injured a woman and two children—he is held on $25,000 bail. Kenosha County Eye

Christor from Gurnee pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless homicide in Kenosha County Circuit Court for his role in the June 27 overdose that killed 33-year-old Kyle Hadle in his home with two children present—he faces sentencing on September 17 and may receive up to 40 years in prison with a $100,000 fine.
