- ➤ On Monday afternoon, local officials and community members gathered outside Salem Lakes Fire and Rescue station in Trevor to install and bless Wisconsin’s fifth Safe Haven Baby Box at 11252 254th Ct.—EMT Kenzie Gaede led the project through extensive fundraising and volunteer efforts. - ➤ A 27-year-old man charged with looting a Kenosha liquor store during the 2020 riots was arrested early Tuesday morning — more than three years after he failed to appear in court. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ A Milwaukee contractor, Rafael Mercado, 54, was taken into custody Monday for allegedly stealing $63,000 from a local restoration company—he must post $5,000 bail. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ A 17-year-old Pleasant Prairie teen, Waylon M. Ware, fled police on an ATV through a busy shopping center parking lot on Saturday afternoon and now faces two felony charges. Kenosha County Eye
- ➤ A 37-year-old Illinois man pleaded guilty on Monday to first-degree reckless homicide for selling fentanyl-laced heroin that killed a 32-year-old Kenosha father in 2023, and he faces up to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced on Sept. 17 in Kenosha County Circuit Court—detectives used digital evidence to tie him to the fatal delivery.
