CRIME NEWS

  • A 47-year-old man from Zion, Illinois, was in court facing five charges in Kenosha County after he allegedly strangled his child's mother in front of their 5-year-old daughter—he also reportedly made repeated racial slurs at a Black sheriff’s deputy during his arrest.  Kenosha County Eye

CULTURE NEWS

  • Das Fest Wisconsin held its first festival at the Kenosha County Fairgrounds this weekend, drawing thousands to enjoy live music, vendor stands, and family events. The event featured energetic performances by The Box Band and BB & the Honey and marked the debut of the Big Beautiful Building for indoor shows—paving the way for a new local tradition.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Fourteen members of the Sister Cities of Kenosha flew to Wolfenbüttel, Germany on June 17 to honor a relationship of 55 years that started in 1970. They attended receptions, townhall discussions, and cultural exchanges including visits to a nursing school and museum — plans for future exchanges are in the works.  Kenosha News
  • More than 100,000 people attended the four-day Country Thunder music festival in Twin Lakes, where fans camped and danced despite heavy rain that canceled an act on Saturday.
