  • The City of Kenosha’s two public pools will close on Sunday, Aug. 17 after a summer that welcomed more than 15,000 visits. They opened on June 17 and offered family-friendly amenities—like water slides and lifeguards from local schools—before closing for off-season maintenance.  Kenosha County Eye
  • The City of Kenosha pools will end their 2025 season on Sunday, Aug. 17—more than 15,000 visitors enjoyed the public facilities this summer.  Kenosha News
  • The City of Kenosha will end its summer pool season on Sunday, Aug. 17 after hosting over 15,000 visitors at Washington Park Pool at 1821 Washington Road and Anderson Park Pool at 8730 22nd Ave. Parks Director Katie Elder said off-season maintenance will start soon—residents can plan to return next summer.  Kenosha.com

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A residential fire at 520 N Cogswell Drive in Salem Lakes occurred early Tuesday morning—flames intensified by a burning 100-pound propane tank left the home uninhabitable—even as no injuries were reported.  WLIP

CRIME NEWS

  • A 41-year-old Kenosha man, Sebastian O. Caracciolo, led police on a dangerous high-speed motorcycle chase last month by ignoring stop signs and driving the wrong way, and he was charged with felony fleeing with bail set at $7,500—his preliminary hearing will be held on Aug. 19.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Jason Gonzalez, 20, from Illinois, fled from police in a stolen car on Tuesday evening and drove up to 70 mph in a 30 mph zone before crashing near Interstate 94—he is now facing multiple felony charges for endangering pedestrians and motorists.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Roxanna Vanderzee-Collins, 70, and John Viskocil, 70, were bound over for trial yesterday after Court Commissioner William Michel II denied their motions to dismiss the 2003 cold case murder—further court dates are pending.  Kenosha County Eye

  • Female jail officers at Kenosha County Jail say Sheriff David Zoerner’s administration allowed a male jail employee transitioning to female to use the women’s locker room without any notice—sparking concern among staff.  Kenosha County Eye
  • Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis named Rosa I. Delgado as Deputy District Attorney effective August 11, bringing 23 years of prosecutorial experience to the office—she now helps lead legal operations to protect the community.  WLIP
