EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A backpack giveaway is set for Tuesday in Mt. Pleasant—500 backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed at MH Imaging on Washington Ave. from 5:30 to 7:30. Kenosha County Public Health will host a back-to-school health fair on Thursday—offering free supplies and limited immunizations at Brass Community School from 3 to 6. WGTD
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Racine officials plan to form a commission to move plans to extend commuter rail from Kenosha to Milwaukee. A city committee will review a resolution later this month—if approved, the mayor will negotiate an inter-governmental agreement with Kenosha and Milwaukee. WGTD
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ St. Mary's, a Kenosha Catholic church near 39th Ave. and Roosevelt Rd., plans to replace its Parish Center and two garages with a 4,500 sq. ft. addition that will connect the church and school — the proposal is set for review this Thursday. WGTD
