- ➤ Millie Bo Peep Children’s Boutique and 1Hope are hosting Little Steps, Big Impact—a children’s fashion show and fundraiser to support foster families in Kenosha today at the Kenosha Public Museum from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 9-year-old child suffered minor hand injuries when a handgun discharged accidentally at a Kenosha officer’s home on Monday—he had accessed a locked gun safe—and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident at the request of the Kenosha Police Department. WLIP

- ➤ Yesterday, Kenosha Unified refined a plan to borrow money for secure entrances at seven schools after gun-related incidents prompted concerns, and board members rejected a phased approach—they will discuss the proposal again in September to manage the estimated $10 million cost within state spending limits. - ➤ Gateway Technical College was recognized nationally for its support of first-generation college students when it joined the FirstGen Forward Network for 2025-26. The college served 5,563 such students last year — showing its long-term commitment to helping students thrive in Kenosha and the surrounding communities. WGTD
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Fox River is above flood stage and rising in Salem Lakes and Wheatland, and the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for parts of Kenosha County — low-lying streets such as 77th are already underwater. - ➤ Kenosha is accepting applications until Sept 3 for its fall tree replacement program that subsidizes planting in parkways where trees were removed in the past five years—residents must call the Parks Department at 262-653-4080 for eligibility and return order forms by Sept 12 to schedule planting between October and November. - ➤ A defense attorney said Tuesday that the jail did not give inmates needed medication—he said one client with heart problems did not get his medicine for two days and many calls about the issue were not answered.
