Today, Gateway Technical College’s HERO Center in Burlington will hold a ceremony featuring a World Trade Center I-beam fragment donated by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation — and later, the City of Kenosha joins local groups at Pennoyer Park bandshell starting at 1 p.m. to mark the 25th anniversary of Sept. 11.

Alderman Dominic Ruffalo presented Hope Council Executive Director Michelle Sandberg with a city proclamation recognizing September as National Recovery Month + celebrating two local staffers who reached 15+ and 10+ years in recovery, marking a milestone in the fight against addiction.

The free event at the Kenosha Transit Center runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features displays, rides, and activities on the city's historic electric streetcars.
