  • A Kenosha Army veteran received a free Harley Davidson motorcycle and is back on the road—his gift marks a supportive gesture for local service members.  Kenosha News
  • Area animal shelters reported a rising need for foster homes after the Kenosha branch took in 62 more cats between June 1 and July 31, bringing its total to 566, while the Racine branch registered 75 extra cats for a total of 481. Officials said higher housing costs and pet rental limits led to more surrenders and creative measures to house the cats.  Kenosha News

  • Parents at Prairie Lane Elementary were notified that the PTO is under investigation for financial irregularities — the Pleasant Prairie Police Department is handling the matter.  Kenosha County Eye

  • Pleasant Prairie Police Chief David Smetana announced plans to retire in early 2026 after more than 40 years in law enforcement + his retirement gives the village time to recruit a successor and ensure a smooth transition.  Kenosha County Eye

HEALTH NEWS

  • Kenosha County is offering a new tool for pregnant women that talks about mental health and substance use issues during pregnancy and gives ideas for care before and after birth as well as safe options for newborns — county officials say the tool will lower stigma and boost access to help.  Kenosha News
