- ➤ Ten startups will compete in the Pitch Perfect contest at Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood—President Kelly Armstrong described the event as a regional launchpad for innovation and connection. Kenosha News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Oct. 26, Carthage College provided a rare look at its admissions process when Vice-President Ashley Hanson explained how the school reviewed over 11,000 applications—accepting 9,000 and enrolling 930 to set record numbers this fall. The process is year-round and selective to help ensure that students can succeed at the college. WGTD
- ➤ Gateway Technical College may expand its yearlong data center certificate program by adding spring courses to meet Microsoft’s growing hiring for its Mt. Pleasant facility—scholarship funds from Microsoft have spurred the initiative. The college is also planning training to support Eli Lilly’s new Bristol facility, which is expected to eventually employ about 750 workers. WGTD
