COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Two Kenosha moms, Emily from Fancy Snacks and Leah from Yaya’s Sweets, are assembling and delivering over 400 free meal kits for families in need from their commercial kitchen on 18th Street. They will begin delivery to local businesses starting Friday night at Lois Family Piggly Wiggly and seek donations to fund future efforts—promoting community support. TMJ-4

- ➤ Student musicians — set to perform at the annual Kenosha Unified Jazz Festival — will take the stage at Tremper High School, 8560 26th Ave on Saturday, Nov. 8. Kenosha News
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ KTEC Schools of Innovation bought the old Pick 'n Save in Uptown for $5 million to create a new charter school with state-of-the-art classrooms, a gym, and technical education spaces — the 56,000 sq. ft. building closed in 2017 and will open in fall with plans to grow enrollment from 320 to 650 students. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Kenosha warns residents to follow snow emergency parking rules as winter weather approaches — parking will be banned in posted snow routes when two inches of snow fall and during a declared emergency when four inches fall or driving becomes unsafe, with overnight parking allowed in designated Downtown and Uptown lots. - ➤ Today, the Kenosha Plan Commission will review housing proposals including a six-building, 144-unit complex with rent and income restrictions on the northwest side, a 48-unit four-story building for seniors east of the transit building off 39th Ave, and two smaller projects with no age restrictions — a zoning change request for a pair of single-family homes at Sheridan Rd. and 48th St. that once held a nightclub. - ➤ Kenosha teen Emily Martin, 15, has won several gold medals at IBJJF tournaments at Veneration Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is now training to earn her blue belt this January—she aims to compete in the adult division at major world events. TMJ-4
