- ➤ WGTD will host the Full Plate Thanksgiving Benefit fundraiser on Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. at Union Park Tavern in Kenosha — the event will feature music by The Deadliners, Old Brown Shoes, and Brent Mitchell while raising funds through a $5 cover charge and donated beverage sales to support food programs at the Shalom Center and the Sharing Center. - ➤ The Kenosha Fund is about 25% toward its million-dollar goal and will use its interest to provide unrestricted grants to local non-profits. The fund, which honors the Kenosha CommunityFoundation centennial in 2026, will double grants to $120,000 if it reaches its goal by August next year—an effort that echoes the vision of early industrialists. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ KTEC Schools of Innovation bought the former Pick 'n Save building at 1901 63rd St. for $5 million and will begin renovation in November 2025. The 56,000 square foot facility will serve as the school’s new permanent 4K-12 campus and is set to open in fall with modern classrooms, a gym and technical labs. Kenosha.com
- ➤ Gateway Technical College is asking for public input on its search for a new president—community members can join Zoom sessions on Nov. 24 at noon and Nov. 25 at 6 p.m. or submit their feedback online to help shape the presidential profile for the search. WGTD
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Residents filled City Hall on Monday night to share their worries over Microsoft’s proposed data center on Kenosha’s west side. Many mentioned issues such as rising traffic and noise—while some acknowledged the potential for new jobs and economic growth, saying more details are needed before any approval. TMJ-4
