  • Kenosha County will host its third-annual tree lighting ceremony at Petrifying Springs Park on Nov. 29. The event will begin at 11 a.m. with a Biergarten opening and will include free ornament decorating, photos with Santa, a live reindeer visit, and themed trees — all free and open to the public.  Kenosha.com

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Coast Guard veteran lost his home in a Twin Lakes fire and suffered smoke inhalation injuries while in the shower — he had no insurance and returned to the hospital Tuesday — and he later received temporary housing from Ground Zero Veterans Outreach in Racine County as the fire remains under investigation.  TMJ-4

HEALTH NEWS

  • Burlington nurse Sam Porter, who works in the emergency department at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital and Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, was named Wisconsin’s First Congressional District Health Care Worker of the Year by Congressman Bryan Steil on November 25—a honor that shows her hard work and caring service.  Kenosha County Eye
