- ➤ An 11-year-old boy was taken into custody on April 15 after allegedly threatening to bring a gun to Bose Elementary School to shoot a classmate—police said that a search of Columbus Park recovered only a loaded magazine and his mother called the incident heartbreaking. TMJ-4

- ➤ Kenosha County launched an adopt-a-highway program on Apr. 24 at Brighton School’s Earth Day event, letting residents sign up to clean two-mile stretches of county roads and providing safety vests, signs and trash bags—an idea championed by County Board Supervisor Frederick Brookhouse— while the program applies only to county-controlled roads. - ➤ The Wisconsin DNR began investigating unapproved excavation and tree cutting behind Village Hall in Salem Lakes after complaints emerged, and village administrator Cassandra Hiller is under scrutiny for ordering the work without board approval.
